Knights Family Bowling

"Thanks to Brother Joseph Bonnici and Brother Richard Rampersad for organizing our 2nd Annual Family Bowling session at Centre Bowl. We had over 36 participants in attendance and all had a great time enjoying two hours of bowling fun and snacks."

Here are a few updates:

1. General Meeting has been changed to Monday, February 23rd as Monday, February 16th is a public holiday, Family Day. At our next General Meeting, we will be selecting our 2008 "Knight of the Year" from the following Brothers:

2. Monday, February 16th: Family Bowling at Centre Bowl we only have one lane left; however a few spots are available on other lanes. In the spirit of fraternity feel free to drop in as Centre Bowl is licensed and the council will provide a free pizza and pop for you to sit and watch the bowlers in action. Sitting space is limited for around 20 people so come early! Bowling will begin around 1:00 pm and end by 3:00 pm.

3. Friday Night for Knights at JOJO's Restaurant: Drop in for a fun time as brother Ash Pereira will be hosting a variety of games, karaoke and food for us to enjoy. This is an open invitation for all Knights, their family members and friends. This event will begin at 7:30 pm and end at 1:00 am. Again, another venue to spend some time getting to know your fellow brothers in a secure environment.

4. 2nd & 3rd Degrees: Brothers are encouraged to attend these degree sessions as observers. If you are a 1st Degree member and would like to take your 2nd Degree, please call me at 905-507-8773 ASAP. This degree will be hosted at St. Patrick's Church located at 921 Flagship Drive, Mississauga. Candidates must arrive at 2:00 pm and the degree begins at 3:00 pm. You should be done by 4:15 pm. On Saturday, February 21st our council will be hosting a 3rd Degree Exemplification; this will be a great opportunity for all 2nd Degree members to complete their journey to Knighthood in the 3rd Degree. Please contact our Membership Director, Bro. Alan at 647-988-3557, or 905-607-3557 so we can make the necessary arrangements. Remember both degrees are free of any charges as the council picks up any cost associated with these degrees.

5. Sunday, February 23rd: This is our regular 1st Degree Exemplification which is held at St. Francis Xavier Church every fourth Sunday of the month. Please show our degree team your support by attending this degree. We are always looking for members from our council to be observers.

Super Bowl Party

"Dear Brothers, thanks to our Sports Director, PGK Bro. Gabriel Ogundele for hosting a fantastic Super Bowl party on Sunday, February 1st in the upstairs church hall. The committee members should be thanked for all their assistance in making this last minute event a great success. Basketball Free Throw

"Dear Brothers, thanks to our Youth Director, Brother Craig DeSouza and his team for hosting an excellent Basketball Free Throw Competition last Saturday. We had over 50 kids that participated in the contest.
District 53 play off will be held at St. Alfred's School on February 14 at 10:00 am. The school is located at 3341 Havenwood which is east of Dixie Rd and South of Bloor Street. The Regional play off will be in Bradford on February 21, hosted by District 33 and Bradford council 4915. Venue at Holy Trinity Catholic High School, 100 Melbourne Drive Bradford Ontario L3Z 2B3. Registration is at 8:30 am and competition starting at 10:00 am.

Hope we can take a few winner from our council to the finals.

Dear Brothers,

We are asking for volunteers to become Chair, Co-Chair and committee members on our upcoming Service Program events for 2009.

Our 2009 Service Program is packed with opportunities for every brother knight to get involved and get to know other members within our fraternity.
