The S.K. Bill Riosa Memorial BBQ for Cancer Treatment >>for pictures click here

The S.K. Bill Riosa Memorial BBQ for Cancer Treatment was held on Canada Day, July 1, at the John Paul II Cultural Centre here in Mississauga. The BBQ is a joint venture of the 12 Knights of Columbus Councils in Mississauga to raise funds for the Carlo Fidani Peel Regional Cancer Centre at the Credit Valley Hospital. Of the 270 attendees, our Council had the third highest turnout with 35 tickets sold.

Our Council was responsible for organizing and running the Silent Auction which raised $1,633.00. Thanks go to Bros. Francis Ho, Vince Spagnolo, and many others for their efforts in collecting auction items, setting up the venue, and conducting the auction during the evening.

This event marks the first of many fundraisers as the Councils of Mississauga fulfill their pledge to raise $50,000.00 for the Fidani Centre over the next five years. The BBQ will be an annual event and we hope for an even better turnout next year.

Fraternally,

Bro. Marcel Lemmen

Grand Knight
