Dont miss travelling "Shroud of Turin" exhibition in Mississauga, this Lent. St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, (1290 McBride Avenue - map >>click here) will be the site for the general showing of Monsignor Ricci's "Holy Shroud of Turin" exhibition. The world's only travelling photographic exhibition (since 1981) makes a 10 - day stop in Mississauga from March 6 - 15, 2006.
The exhibition takes place from 2pm to 8pm on weekdays and Saturdays and on Sunday from 12pm to 5pm.
An exceptional video presentation is held every hour on the hour. A team led by Msgr. Giulio Ricci, president of the Roman Center for the study of the Holy Shroud in Rome and the Kodak Eastman Company have mounted this exhibition that includes a life-sized replica of the Shroud, a 12 ft crucifix with Shroud markings accompanied by 66 detailed photographic and text panels that tell the remarkable story of Christianitity's most famous relic. The Catholic Church is now the owner of the original Shroud. Pope John Paul II personally arranged for expositions for the faithful in 1998 and the Jubilee year two years later. He attended the first himself and called it "an icon of intense suffering" and "a mirror of the Gospels". The exhibition is silent, contemplative, non-denominational and free to the public.
